Call for Expressions of Interest: Secretary and Panel Members of the BSG Averil Osborn Award for Participatory Research
Established in 1994, the Averil Osborn Award seeks to promote and support work which enhances the participation and leadership of older people in research. Awards are made annually. The panel are seeking new panel members to join the current established team. We are also seeking a new Secretary to the Panel as the current Secretary is stepping down after serving since 2019.

Roles and Responsibilities

Secretary to the Panel: We are looking for research active academics who may be interested in learning more about funding decision making. The Secretary coordinates the award on behalf of the panel. They liaise with the BSG team to advertise the award. They receive applications, which they then summarise and disseminate to the panel.  The Secretary coordinates the responses to applicants.

Panel Members: We are looking for experienced researchers to join the panel. The responsibilities of panel members are to read and provide comment on received applications. Experience of funding panel membership is desirable, but not essential.

For more information, please contact Dr Karen Burnell, the current Secretary, for more information (karen.burnell@solent.ac.uk).
